Technical Architect

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced engineer to fill the leadership role of Technical Architect. This role would oversee Gallus development initiatives, fully understand the needs of our clients, and take full ownership of product quality delivered to our customers and end-users. Gallus Golf is a part of the SwitchCase Group.

What you will do:

  • Work directly with the CEO to help define the ongoing development roadmap and product definitions

  • Work with engineering to architect major development projects

  • Manage the technical relationships with Gallus integration partners

  • Help evaluate the product and technical viability of new business opportunities for Gallus

  • Oversight on all ongoing development projects, work with engineering team to evaluate the project components, priority and scope

  • Manage ongoing maintenance being performed by development resources, including internal developers and any 3rd party development

  • Have the technical chops to write great code, and where applicable help with aspects of actual development (prototype code), but bias towards enabling engineering resources

  • Spend the majority of their time focused on guiding the work being performed to ensure:

    • Project are defined accurately (with an understanding of the business and client needs)

    • Realistic timelines set to deliver releases

    • Interruptions to progress are minimized so we can meet delivery targets within an acceptable degree of accuracy

  • Have knowledge of golf industry would be a bonus (or at least a golfer)

What you will bring to our team:

Local Candidates with the following experience will be contacted.

  • Extensive professional programming experience

  • Ability to conceptualize, plan, and build software to solve complex problems

  • Working with and leading a team of both internal and external developers

  • Architecting and implementing end to end systems/projects

  • Relational Databases design (ex: SQL Server, Postgress, or MySQL)

  • Web API integration experience

  • Golf knowledge

    • Industry knowledge a plus, but from the golfer perspective at a minimum

  • Managing or overseeing remote contract development team a plus

Technologies used by our team:

  • AWS: RDS, Lambdas, EC2, S3, API Gateway

  • RESTful API design and implementation

  • Javascript based frameworks (ex: nodejs, ReactJS, or Angular)

  • .NET

Compensation commensurate with experience, includes health care benefits, 401k, and company profit sharing.
